Leading Edge (Husan) Hi-Tech II 36"
What we see here is a Leading Edge Hi-Tech II 36" commercial ceiling fan model 3620-1, dated February 2009, manufactured by Husan Industrial, Co. Ltd. of Thailand. This version of the Hi-Tech II was introduced in 1990 to replace the previous generation, which was known by collectors as the "Ring Fan", after its OEM, Weatherite, went out of business the previous year. Performance-wise, this version is a massive improvement over the Ring. However, they are also very problematic due to the fact that Husan uses subpar chrome-plated motor bearings, which over time will lose their chrome plating, gunk up and eventually lock up, leading to a roughly 50% failure rate after less than a decade of c...

Here once again, we have the infamous Pontiac Blue Leading Edge/Mirage Awesome 60 industrial ceiling fan, manufactured by China Cold Storage and Engineering; d/b/a Weatherite of Hong Kong some time around 1978. This time around, I am demonstrating it on an original Mirage 3 amp solid state variable speed control, made by Teccor Electronics. The Awesome 60 was first introduced by Leading Edge in...
Hunter Bath/Dressing Room Fan (Potomac Vents)
Просмотров 28014 дней назад
On this week's edition of "smol", we have a Hunter Bath/Dressing Room ceiling fan, model 23676, made in the first quarter of 1995. The Bath/Dressing Room fan was of course Hunter's token "small" ceiling fan for most of the 1990s, and was for many years the smallest model of fan they ever offered, measuring only 32 inches in diameter. It first appeared in catalogs in 1992, and from the start, it...
Emerson Seabreeze 20" Roll-About Floor Fan
Просмотров 25021 день назад
What we see here is a 20" Emerson Seabreeze roll-about circulator fan from circa 1955-56. From what I'm able to find on these fans, it appears the Seabreeze name was first used by Emerson in the mid-1930s on their "economy" line of oscillating table fans, replacing their previous line of economy fans, the Northwind, which was phased out after 1930. The last use of the Seabreeze name by Emerson ...

Fasco Vanity Fair (Supercharged)
Просмотров 26421 день назад
So opening this fan up reveals a detuned 0.75 amp motor, the same size motor that's in post-1985 38"/42" Charlestons paired with a 5Mfd run cap. The Motor data tag specifies that it can be used with up to an 8Mfd run capacitor but the stock cap is only valued at 4Mfd. For this video, I changed the stock cap out for a 6Mfd cap I had laying around and now the thing FLIES. Another small change I m...
Fasco Vanity Fair (Stock Performance)

What you see here is a Fasco Vanity Fair ceiling fan, model 330W in white finish, dated September 1988. The Vanity Fair was Fasco's smallest ceiling fan offering, measuring only 30" in diameter. I estimate production began some time in 1985, as Vanity Fairs have surfaced in the past with second-generation blade badges, cowbell canopies and flat switch caps. But the bulk majority of samples that...
Vernco 20" "Electric Reversible" Box Fan with Thermostat Model K-4
Просмотров 17221 день назад
What we see here is a Vernco 20" 2-speed "Electric Reversible" box fan with thermostat, model K-4, dated May 1965. Vernco fans that are not labeled for Sears don't tend to surface too terribly often, so when this surfaced, I had to grab it. It's a boat anchor and a good performer, despite being a bit on the loud side. Uses a 2-speed GE electrically reversible shaded pole motor

On this week's edition of "CHOOOCOLAAAAATEEE!!!!" we have a 38" first-generation Fasco Charleston ceiling fan model #3885WA in textured walnut brown finish with solid walnut blades, dated November 1981, shown here with a very unique light kit made by Thomas Industries for Fasco. The Fasco Charleston first showed up in ads in 1982. It was designed by Fasco salesman John Arbaugh on a napkin while...

Now what was Spartan? Spartan Electric was Fasco's mass merchant label. So in other words, if you bought a Fasco fan through an inde...

What we have here is another Patton high velocity circulator fan, this time a 14", model U2-1472, made between 1972 and 78. This unit appears to have been made about midway through the series' run. It has a deep pitched, elephant ear propeller made by the Lau Blower Co. and is powered by a GE 1/20HP shaded pole motor. Like my U2-1272 I picked up last year, it is a quiet runner and pushes a trem...

I had one exactly like this, but the model number read 21626. At first I thought that there were 2 different versions of the B&DR, but later when I discovered the 21626 model number, I thought to myself that it had to be something else. The Potomac name didn’t cross my mind for that fan then. I knew something had to be different between the 23676 and 21626.

Just proves how a good arranger can get the most out of a small organ!, the scale on these seems better than the larger Wurlitzer organs as the tunes fit without having to change the key and "borrow" notes, much fuller and more tuneful arrangements too!
